What are navigable waterways under the Jones Act?

A: Navigable waterways include the “high seas” such as Atlantic Ocean, Pacific Ocean and Gulf of Mexico.

They also include the inland waterways such as the Mississippi River, Columbia River and other areas of frequent barge traffic such as the Intracoastal Waterway (ICW) system.
